*Acupuncture Super Point*
Name: KUNLUN BL-60
Translation: Kunlun mountains
Location: 60th point on the bladder channel
Lower back pain, sciatica and sacro-iliac joint pain are extremely common complaints that I treat in my clinic. Fortunately they respond fantastically well to acupuncture, which is generally accepted to be a primary treatment for chronic back pain, along with painkillers, exercise and weight loss. Many clients say they would do a lot better at losing weight and exercising if they had some relief from their constant pain.
There are two ways to tackle lower back pain / sciatica with acupuncture:
1) Use acupoints along the spine, close to the source of pain and inflammation. These work directly on the affected vertebral levels and surrounding soft tissues and nerves.
2) Use acupoints further down the line, but still on the same channels that affect the spine. The best example of this sort of point is KUNLUN.

KUNLUN is the last point on the bladder channel, which runs all the way down the spine, affecting the comfort, strength and health of the back and spinal cord. Stagnation of chi or energy flowing through the bladder channel is a common cause of worsening back pain. KUNLUN located just beneath the Achilles tendon acts on the channel to treat back pain and weakness remotely.
