Perhaps you are experiencing depression and/or anxiety. Maybe you are struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings triggered by social situations or that are associated with low self-esteem. Perhaps a previous trauma is causing you to experience heightened anxiety, flashbacks and sleep disturbance. Whatever your needs may  be, I am here to offer support.

Compassionate CBT offers  a number of evidence-based psychotherapies to help you improve your psychological well being including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.

My kind, compassionate and empathic style will support you to feel understood and help you to take the much needed steps towards change. This will all be delivered in a quite, peaceful and safe environment.

What is CBT? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as the most effective way to treat many problems. Many studies have demonstrated that CBT is as effective as medication for many common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.

CBT explores the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and the impact that these are currently having on you. The aim of therapy is to help you to develop new strategies to manage your problems. It involves you working together with your therapist to improve your life and your current experience. As a result you will develop a range of skills and tools to use to help gain freedom from your problems and then you are more likely to be able to maintain the improvements after therapy.

What problems can CBT help with? CBT has been shown to be effective with many problems including:

Phobias Social Anxiety Health Anxiety Generalised Anxiety Disorder (which is characterised by excessive worry) Depression Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) Post-traumatic stress disorder

Session cost

The cost of each session is £60. Sessions last between 50 minutes to 1 hour.
