*Acupuncture Super Point*
Name: TAIBAI
Translation: Supreme White
Location: 3rd point of the spleen channel
TAIBAI is a wonderful acupoint located under the ball of the foot. The main action of this point is to treat problems of digestion including - constipation, diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome and undigested food.
IBS is a difficult condition to live with. At best it is irritating, but at its worst it can significantly affect a person's daily life, limiting their enjoyment and freedom when going out and eating different foods.
It wouldn't be so bad if there were reliable treatments available but IBS is a notoriously difficult condition to treat with Western medicine and medications.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine IBS and similar digestive disorders are reliably treated with acupuncture along the spleen channel/meridian - particularly using this point, TAIBAI. It is so powerful at regulating the digestive system that many patients have little or no symptoms after several treatments
If you have IBS that does not respond to usual treatment, I strongly recommend trying a course of acupuncture for both symptom relief and prevention of future flare-ups.
