*Acupuncture Super Point for arthritis of the hands*
Name: BAXIE
Translation: Eight Pathogens
Location: web spaces of the hands
Arthritis of any kind is a condition caused by inflammation. This is even more true for rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid sufferers typically have pain, stiffness and swelling in the small joints of the hands. When the disease is active this can be very disabling.
Western medicine treats rheumatoid with powerful immunosuppressant drugs which, although effective, do carry the risk of side effects in the short and long term. In Chinese Medicine rheumatoid arthritis is considered to be a disease of excessive heat in the body.
BAXIE is a series of little acupoints located in between the knuckles. The function of these points is to drain this excessive heat from the body. There are similar points on the feet as well. When a person has acupuncture using BAXIE points they will often comment 'I can feel my hands getting warmer and warmer!'
This is a very reassuring sign that the treatment is working in fact. If you have arthritis of any kind in the hands and feet then acupuncture is an effective, safe treatment option, especially for acute flare-ups.
Used the acupuncture skills of Michael to relieve sinus problems, having already tried traditional medication in all its forms including antibiotics , none of which were successful.
Acupuncture treatment has proved to be very beneficial and continues to improve my situation.
